【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusefulasarapid,nondestructivetechniqueforthecalculationofthein-placedensityofsoilandrockatdesireddepthsbelowthesurfaceasopposedtosurfacemeasurementsinaccordancewithTestMethodD2922.Thistestmethodisusefulforinformationalandresearchpurposes.ItshouldonlybeusedforqualitycontrolandacceptancetestingwhencorrelatedtootheracceptedmethodssuchasTestMethodD2937.Thenon-destructivenatureofthetestmethodallowsrepetitivemeasurementstobemadeatasingletestlocationforstatisticalanalysisandtomonitorchangesovertime.ThefundamentalassumptionsinherentinthistestmethodarethatComptonscatteringandphotoelectricabsorptionarethedominantinteractionsofthegammasandthematerialundertest.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthecalculationofthedensityofsoilandrockbytheattenuationofgammaradiation,wherethegammasourceandthegammadetectorareplacedatthedesireddepthinaboredholelinedbyanaccesstube.1.2Thedensity,inmassperunitvolumeofthematerialundertest,iscalculatedbycomparingthedetectedrateofgammaradiationwithpreviouslyestablishedcalibrationdata(seeAnnexA1).1.3Aprecisionstatementhasnotbeendevelopedforthisstandardatthistime.Therefore,thisstandardshouldnotbeusedforacceptanceorrejectionofamaterialforpurchasignpurposesunlesscorrelatedtootheracceptedASTMstandards.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsareregardedasthestandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonlyandmaybeapproximate.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionarystatementsaregiveninSection6,"Hazards."
