【摘要】:1.1Thispracticecovershowtoobtainsoilsamplesusinghollow-stemsamplingsystemsanduseofhollow-stemaugerdrillingmethodsforgeotechnicalexploration.Thispracticeaddresseshowtoobtainsoilsamplessuitableforengineeringpropertiestesting.1.2Inmostgeotechnicalexplorations,hollow-stemaugerdrillingiscombinedwithothersamplingmethods.Splitbarrelpenetrationtests(TestMethodD1586)areoftenperformedtoprovideestimatesofengineeringpropertiesofsoils.Thin-walltube(PracticeD1587)andring-linedbarrelsamples(PracticeD3550)arealsofrequentlytaken.Thispracticediscussesholepreparationforthesesamplingevents.Forinformationonthesamplingprocess,consulttherelatedstandards.Otherinsitutests,suchasthevaneshearTestMethodD2573,canbeperformedbelowthebaseoftheboringbyaccessthroughthedrillstring.1.3ThispracticedoesnotincludeconsiderationsforgeoenvironmentalsitecharacterizationsandinstallationofmonitoringwellswhichareaddressedinGuideD5784.1.4Thispracticemaynotreflectallaspectsofoperations.Itoffersguidanceoncurrentpracticebutdoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Itshouldnotbeusedasthesolecriterionorbasisofcomparison,anddoesnotreplaceorrelieveprofessionaljudgment.1.5Hollow-stemaugerdrillingforgeotechnicalexplorationofteninvolvessafetyplanning,administration,anddocumentation.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttospecificallyaddressexplorationandsitesafety.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortoitsuse.Performanceofthetestusuallyinvolvesuseofadrillrig,therefore,safetyrequirementsasoutlinedinapplicablesafetystandards,forexampleOSHA(OccupationalHealthandSafetyAdministration)regulations,DCDMAsafetymanual,drillingsafetymanuals,andotherapplicablestateandlocalregulationsmustbeobserved.
