【摘要】:Thistestmethodmeasuresthecontactangleofatestliquidincontactwithaflatspecimenofafilmorapapersubstrateunderspecifiedtestconditions.Thistestmethodmaybeusedwithanyliquidofinterestwhichiscompatiblewiththeequipmentused,particularlywithregardtoliquidviscosity,tackiness,andvaporpressure(evaporation).Thistestmethodmaybeusedwithanysubstrateofinterest,whichcanbecuttodimensionscompatiblewiththeequipmentused.Formaterialswhichsorbthetestliquidunderthespecifiedtestconditions,therateofchangeofthecontactangleasafunctionoftimemaybesignificant,andmaybedeterminedusingproceduresdescribedinthistestmethod.Itisalsopossibletoevaluatethesorptivepropertiesofasurface,astheremainingliquidvolumeontopofthespecimensurfaceismeasuredasafunctionoftime.Theconditionsrequiredinthistestmethodspecifyreagentwaterasthetestliquidwhentestingpapersdesignedtobeabsorbent,suchasabsorbenttissuegrades.Conditionsarespecifiedforthetestingofawiderangeofpapersconsideredtobeoflowabsorbanceornonabsorbent,includingreleasepapers,sized,coated,orunsizedpapersdesignedforprinting,writing,wrapping,andsimilartaskswherethepapersurfaceinteractionwithaqueousorsolventbasedinksorotheraqueousornonaqueousliquidsisimportant.Insuchcases,testliquidsotherthanreagentwater,includingwritingandprintinginks,ororganicliquidsormixturesoforganicliquidsmaybeusedasthetestliquiduponprioragreementofthoseinvolvedinthetesting,providedtheliquidiscompatiblewiththeequipmentused.Wheretestliquidsotherthanreagentwaterareused,theactualliquidusedisreported.Conditionsarealsospecifiedforthetestingofpolymerfilms,polymer-coatedpapers,paperlaminates,felt,textilesandnon-wovens,usingwaterorotherfluidscompatiblewiththeequipmentandimportanttotheend-useapplicationsofthematerialstested,includinggluingandprinting.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
